What is the best example of a story's historical context?
Vlad [161]

The best example of a story's historical context is A. the economic situation the author lives in.

The historical context of a story refers to the background and surrounding situations that affect that story. In that way, it is related to the social, cultural, economic and political circumstances that surround that text and that are linked to specific historical moments. As the economic environment is included as part of the historical context of a story, the economic situation in which the author lives in is the correct answer.

5 The senior citizens center will give our parents and grandparents a home away from home. It will also bring new jobs to our co
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

The paragraph sounds like it is about needing employees to help at the nursing home and so "it isnt right for us to ignore the needs of our seniors " sounds like it fits into there and it isn't in a specifically expressive tone so it fits with the monotone paragraph.

Which statement best explains why the Declaration of Independence does not directly address the issue of slavery? Thomas Jeffers
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

The statement which best explains why the Declaration of Independence does not directly address the issue of slavery is:

C. Some of the colonies were in favor of slavery and others were opposed to it.

Explanation:

It is true that Jefferson himself owned about 100 slaves. However, that did not prevent him from condemning slavery when he wrote an initial draft for the Declaration of Independence. The anti-slavery passage was edited out by members of a committee, including John Adams and Benjamin Franklin. The reason behind it was the crucial division between the colonies, some supporting and some condemning slavery. There were colonies in which slavery was seen as essential for production of cotton and tobacco, for instance. Having that in mind, the best option is letter C. Some of the colonies were in favor of slavery and others were opposed to it.
