Answer:

Therefore the value of k = 6.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

LN = m

NM = l

OM = k

NO = 4

LO = 8

LM = 8 + k and

Δ LNM ,Δ LON and Δ MON are right Triangle.

To Find :

Om = k = ?

Solution:

In Right angle Triangle By Pythagoras Theorem we have,

(\textrm{Hypotenuse})^{2} = (\textrm{Shorter leg})^{2}+(\textrm{Longer leg})^{2}

So, In Right angle Triangle Δ LON we have,

LN² = ON² + OL²

m² = 4² + 8²

m² = 80   ............( 1 )

Now in  Right angle Triangle Δ MON we have,

MN² =  ON² + MO²

l² = 4² + k² ....................( 2 )

Now In Right angle Triangle Δ LNM we have,

LM² = LN² + MN²

(8 + k)² = m² + l² .................( 3 )

Substituting equation  1 and equation 2 in equation 3

(8+k)² = 80 + 4² + k²

Applying (A+B)² = A² +2AB + B² we get

64 + 16k+k^{2} = 80+ 16 +k^{2} \\\\16k=96\\\\\therefore k=\frac{96}{16} \\\\\therefore k=6

Therefore the value of k = 6.

Why do the inequality signs stay the same in the last two steps of exercise 1
MrRissso [65]
The only reason an inequality would change would be because a number is divided or multiplied by a negative number. So if it stayed the same, then it would be because there was no division or multiplication by a negative number. Hope I helped :)

ms rodriguez has 24 students in her class room. 10 of the students are boys. Jeff claims that the ratio of boys to girls must be
nignag [31]

Answer:

The answer instead is 10:14.

Step-by-step explanation:

In this case, there are ten boys and fourteen girls in this class. The ration would then be 10:14. Instead, Jeff said 5:12 which isn't correct. He can correct it by using the number of boys given, find the difference of girls in a class of twenty-four students, and then get his answer!

A box contains 9 green balls, 16 red balls, 9 white balls, and 6 pink balls. What is the probability of drawing a pink ball out
Viefleur [7K]
This is an example of "classical probability". Whenever the probability of all events is the same, then the probability is calculated by dividing the number of "favorable events" of total events.

For this problem, the total number of events is the total number of balls, it is 40. The number of favorable events it the number of pink balls, it is 6.

So, the answer is 6/40, which can be written as 3/20.
