Which passage uses third-person omniscient point of view?

English
2 answers:
Bad White [126]3 years ago

Answer:

The answer is option (d)

Explanation: The answer is option (c) because it uses third person. first person contains the words ( I, I've, I had, Myself, ect.). In other words, first person would be described as a story in the characters perspective. So this is the complete opposite of third person which eliminates choices (a), and (b).

Second person contains the word (you) and is described to you if you know what I mean. So this can be confused with third person because its not from the characters point of veiw. Second person describes the story to you from a narative perspective. So this eliminates option (c).

Third person contains the words (he, she, it, they, him, her, them, his, her, hers, its, their, and theirs). As you can see in option (d) it contains the word (they) which instantly triggers that the answer is option (d). Please only upvote if i got this correct... Thank you, have a great day!

Read the quote and determine whether you agree, then elaborate on what makes an effective writer?
zimovet [89]

Answer:

Agree

Explanation:

Writing is not a quick art form where you can jot down your ideas and have a novel immediatley. Good writing takes time. Effective writers spend the time in editing, reviewing, and correcting. Courtenay is correct when he states that these "are the very basics of writing"

Develop a clear thesis statement based on your comparison of the print verison and the film using your notes find textural evide
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Explanation:

complete sentence that expresses your position.

Narrows the topic down to a specific focus of an investigation.

Establishes a direction for the entire paper.

Points forward to the conclusion.

Always stated in your introduction. (Usually at the end of the first paragraph).

Always take a stand and justify further discussion.

A thesis statement is not a statement of fact.

Your readers—especially your instructors—want to read writing that engages them. Consequently, you must write thesis statements that are arguable, not factual. Statements of fact seem easy to write about because, well, they are easy to prove. After all, they’re facts. The problem is that you cannot write engaging papers around statements of fact. Such theses prevent you from demonstrating critical thinking and analytical skills, which you want to show your instructor. If you were to write a paper around the next two statements, your writing would probably be quite dull because you would be restating facts that the general public already knows.

Thesis Statements always take a stand and justify further discussion.

In order to make your writing interesting, you should develop a thesis statement that is arguable. Sometimes you will be writing to persuade others to see things your way and other times you will simply be giving your strong opinion and laying out your case for it.

Take a look at the following examples:

Statement of fact:

Small cars get better fuel mileage than 4x4 pickup trucks.

Arguable thesis statement:

The government should ban 4x4 pickup trucks except for work-related use.

Statement of fact:

Foul language is common in movies.

Arguable thesis statement:

The amount of foul language in movies is disproportionate to the amount of foul language in real life.

Statement of fact:

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease.

Arguable thesis statement/opening paragraph:

Researchers think the incidence of celiac disease is increasing in the USA not only because of an increase in the ability and awareness to diagnose it, but also because of changes in the agricultural system. In particular, they are looking at the increased use of pesticides, insecticides, and genetically modified wheat as culprits. Some of these theories are more likely to be valid than others.

Why Douglass does not wish to celebrate the 4th of July?
Write 3-5 sentences
igomit [66]

Douglass did not wish to celebrate The 4th of July because it was celebrating freedom. There were many blacks still enslaved and he dispised how United States celebrated freedom when millions of blacks were still enslaved. Douglass said “The rich inheritance of justice, liberty, prosperity and independence, bequeathed by your fathers, is shared by you, not by me. The sunlight that brought life and healing to you, has brought stripes and death to me. This Fourth [of] July is yours, not mine.” He is talking about the black slaves who are still trapped with no freedom

NEED HELP RIGHT NOW!! Order the topics from broadest to narrowest.
postnew [5]
In short - from broadest to narrowest:

1. The use of glass and steel in modernist architecture.
2. The use of glass and steel by architect I.M. Pei
3. Architect I.M. Pei's contributions to the Glass Pyramid at the Louvre.

In detail:

Whenever you are trying to order something from broadest to narrowest you have to look at what information is being provided to you.

Think of this concept of taking a picture.

When you take a picture of something from a distance, you can get a broad range of objects in the picture before you zoom in.

If you focus or zoom in on a specific object, your scope becomes narrower and you see something more closely.

If you zoom further, you may be able to see some detailed features of the subject in question.

In the example provided, the statements are ordered from the most general statement to the most specific statement. You have the most detail in the narrowest example.
