Step 1-Light Dependent

CO2 and H2O enter the leaf

Step 2- Light Dependent

Light hits the pigment in the membrane of a thylakoid, splitting the H2O into O2

Step 3- Light Dependent

The electrons move down to enzymes

Step 4-Light Dependent

Sunlight hits the second pigment molecule allowing the enzymes to convert ADP to ATP and NADP+ gets converted to NADPH

Step 5-Light independent

The ATP and NADPH is used by the calvin cycle as a power source for converting carbon dioxide from the atmosphere into simple sugar glucose.

Step 6-Light independent

The calvin cycle converts 3CO2 molecules from the atmosphere to glucose

calvin cycle

The second of two major stages in photosynthesis (following the light reactions), involving atmospheric CO2 fixation and reduction of the fixed carbon into carbohydrate.

Which part of an amino acid gives the molecule its characteristic chemical properties?
Soloha48 [4]
The part of the amino acid that gives the molecule its unique or characteristic chemical properties would be the R-group. Every amino acid has three main groups in it namely the amino group, carboxyl group and the R group. "R" represents different organic chain that is specific to a certain amino acid which gives different properties of the molecule.

Identify 3 similarities between the structure of the DNA of human and Maple Tree.
Bezzdna [24]

Answer:

In fact, the actual structure of the DNA molecule and how it codes for proteins is the same from bacteria to yeast to plants and animals. The DNA molecule in plants, humans, and all living things are all the same shape -- like a twisted ladder, or a double helix.

One glucose molecule provides enough carbon for two trips through the citric acid cycle. How many molecules of ATP are directly
Nuetrik [128]

Answer: 38 molecules of ATP

Explanation:

Glycolysis is the cellular degradation of the simple sugar glucose to yield pyruvate, and ATP as an ENERGY source.

The pyruvate ENTERS the Citric acid cycle yielding ATP and some REDUCING EQUIVALENTS like FADH and NADH.

These reducing equivalents enters the ELECTRON TRANSPORT SYSTEM to yield molecules of ATP.

So, the number of moles of ATP generated from two trips is 38 molecules.
