The Anasazi lived in the cliffs in the Southwest.

Further Explanation:

The Anasazi were a tribe of indigenous people who lived in the American Southwest. This includes modern day Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. This group was able to have success and were able to establish a sedentary society because of their ability to build irrigation systems.  This group was part of a larger group known as Ancestral Puebloans.

These societies were greatly altered upon the arrival of Europeans after Columbus's initial voyage to the New World in 1492. Many tribes like the Anasazi were decimated by Europeans as they conquered much of North America during the 16th century.
