Nucleotides are molecules of monomer units which is made up of 3 components: five carbon sugar ( Ribose in RNA and Deoxyribose in DNA), Nitrogen containing bases ( Purine and Pyrimidine) and a phosphate group.

DNA has 4 nitrogen bases : Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine (C). In RNA instead of Thymine (T), Uracil (U) is present.
