In this exercise, we'll use three tenses, so let's define them:

 • Preterite tense forms. The preterite tense is one of two simple past tenses. It is used to describe actions that took place or were completed at a certain point in the past.
 • Imperfect tense forms. The imperfect is used to talk about past actions, conditions, or events that occurred regularly or frequently or that were in progress in a moment in the past.
 • The simple present. The simple present tense is used to talk about habitual actions or routines. This tense is also used to describe things that happens now or in the near future.

So the answers are as follows:

(1) Fuimos

From the first Table bellow, you can see that the conjugation of the irregular verb ir, in the preterite tense, that matches the first person plural is fuimos.

(2) Fue

In this case, fue is the conjugation of the verb ir for the third person singular in the preterite tense as indicated in the first Table bellow.

(3) Fue

It is also used the same conjugation as in the item (2)

(4) Fuimos

As Clara y yo can be replaced by the subject pronoun ellas (third person plural), the matching conjugation of the verb ir is also fuimos.

(5) Fuimos

Here the sentence continues to talk about Clara y yo.

(6) Fue

Talking about the food matches the third person singular, so here the conjugation of the verb ir in the preterite form is also fue.

(7) Fuimos

Here the sentence stands for nosotras, that is, the first person plural. So the matching conjugation of the verb ir in the preterite form is also fuimos

(8) Fuimos

Here the sentence stands for nosotras, so we need to use fuimos as well

(9) Fuimos

El jueves stands for the third person singular. So the matching conjugation of the verb ir in the preterite form is also fuimos

(10) Fuimos

Here the sentence also stands for nosotras, so we need to use fuimos as well

(11) Fue

El viaje stands for the third-person singular, so the matching conjugation of the verb ir in the preterite form is also fue

(12) Fui

In this case, fui is the conjugation of the verb ir for the first person singular in the preterite tense as indicated in the first Table bellow.

(13) era

In this case, era is the conjugation of the verb ser for the third person singular in the preterite tense as indicated in the second Table bellow.

(14) Fuimos

Here the sentence is talking about Clara y yo again, so the conjugation of the verb ir in the preterite tense is fuimos again

(15) Fuimos

Here the sentence stands for nosotras again, so we need to use fuimos as well

(16) es

es is the conjugation of the verb ser for the third person singular in the simple presents. As stated in the concept above, things happens regularly in the simple present. So dawn is always beatuiful on Machu Picchu

(17) Fue

La excursión stands for the third-person singular, so the matching conjugation of the verb ir in the preterite form is also fue

(18) Fuiste

Fuiste is the conjugation of the verb ir for the second person singular in the preterite tense as indicated in the first Table bellow.

Finally, the paragraph is:
