Diffusion is the process by which a culture or a certain characteristic spreads from one place to another. It has four main types: a. hierarchal diffusion
b. stimulus diffusion
c. contagious diffusion and
d. relocation diffusion
As to the veggie burgers served in India, it a combination of hierarchical and stimulus. Hierarchical because it is coming from a Western power, and stimulus because of vegetarian offerings.
