The Nurse helps Romeo and Juliet elope. Because she helped them get married, consummate their marriage, and sneak around, Juliet wouldn't marry Paris and ended up drinking the sleeping potion that caused Romeo and then her to kill themselves.

Also she had seen people starving to death so these events had made her insensitive to deaths and this was different in her than the other people around her
