Hello. You did not enter the sentence to which the question refers, which makes it impossible for that question to be answered. However, I can help you by showing you what an emotional appeal is that directly targets the audience's feelings. This way you will be guided to interpret the sentence and find your answer.

Pathos is the term that refers to the moment when an actor writes a sentence to appeal to the audience's emotional. This sentence will not present logical facts to convince the public about something, but it will be a sentimental sentence, which will try to attract and shape the public's attention through the proliferation of feelings. This sentence can have a melancholy, happy, empathic, patriotic, nationalist, hateful content, among others that make the reader "feel" something and not, necessarily, reason about something.

Here's an example:

In the phrase "street animals have nothing to eat, soon they will look for food in the domestic waste, to satisfy hunger" the author used an appeal to logic, to present an increase. If an animal is hungry, it will logically look for food.

On the other hand, the phrase "I could see in the animals' countenance the hunger and sadness that the environment in which they lived imposed on him. Thin, crestfallen and without hope, they wag their tails and give sad looks to everyone who passed by," the author makes a appeal to the emotional, because it causes pity, sadness and empathy, for the situation of the animals.

Do you think taxpayers should be responsible for funding prison education systems or do you think that the money should come fro
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

I don't think taxpayers should fund prison's, but I do believe they should fund educational systems. My reasoning for not wanting my tax money handed off to fund a prison is because it has no meaning for a true purpose. Prisoners are in prison for a reason not because they did something good but did something to disturb the community, in which we shouldn't be funding their new found home for their behavior. My reasoning for wanting to fund education with my tax money, on the other hand, is because education is a world wide system that provides children and even adults with knowledge and helps make people successful. People who are willing to learn should have the right to resources on hand.,

Read the excerpt from “First Generation” of Dreaming in Cuban, by Cristina Garcia.
lutik1710 [3]
The second choice best applies to the given excerpt. First, it can be noted from this excerpt that the writer wants to convey a pessimistic view of fate. With that, the last choice will not apply to the paragraph anymore. The second and third choices do not apply as well because all words used were neither jargon nor difficult. Rather the words and phrases used like, "interested...but changed their minds", "frustrated", and "revolution in the mountains", were easy to grasp and quickly conveys how a possibly bright future has turned into a sour one.
