Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer:

Later, during her college years in the late sixties, there was a push to pronounce Third World names correctly.

Explanation:

In the narrative, Julia moved from Dominican to NY, together with her family. It was amazing that most people used to mispronounce the name of the family. For instance, when her family arrived in the immigration office, the officer would be able to mispronounce it. Julia is so eager to correct the officer from uttering the words wrongly, and she instead repeats it herself so that the officer gets the correct pronunciation.

What is the tone of the poem, "war is kind" by Stephen Crane?
Please help!!!
Mars2501 [29]
The tone is dark but is contradicted by how the government always portrays war as something to be proud of when in reality it’s just men who will never return to their families. It tells how wives, mothers, and children weep after learning a loved one has been lost in the field while also glorifying death

Read the excerpt below and answer the question.
KengaRu [80]

While describing Kenny, the narrator uses a mysterious tone. The narrator most likely uses this tone to create traits of Kenny. The description of Kenny makes you think of him as tough, or mysterious. Its used to create your impression of him. The narrator uses physical description rather than personality descriptions, to create a “Unknown” vibe to him. “…with a pale skin…” most likely reference that he’s supernatural. Although people can have pale skin, pale skin is often used in stories to create an unnatural being; zombies, monster, etc. “He was tall, gaunt…” creates a tough tone. All of this is important because it adds on to the central idea of the passage. Tone is important because it helps develops the vibe and the theme of the story. From observation, this is most likely an excerpt from a mysterious passage. You can use the tone, word choice, and message to more understand the passage.
