This story creates a feeling of tension because this is about someone who is He didn’t traveling to Mars and has his life on the line. The main character is anxious to what will happened and doesn’t know what to expect. In the story it states “Something was wrong,” this gets you on the edge of your seat because before that part everything seemed fine. Other detail is “nothing happened. Then the side-jets spotted, and he was slammed sideways into the cot.” When you read, “nothing happened” you feel relief but then you read that he was slammed sideways into the cot. This gives you tension because it’s something that frightens you if it were to happen to you.
This was challenging but hope this helps!
The dashes should be inserted between "bridge" and "an", and the second dash should be between "gorge" and "while".
Without the hyphens, the sentence is a bit too long and over-connected. There needs to be some sort of pause to describe the bridge the jumper is jumping off of.
