Subtract 12 from both sides
$- \frac{1}{2} x+12-12=-16 \frac{1}{2} -12$$- \frac{1}{2}x=-28 \frac{1}{2}$
Divide by -$\frac{1}{2}$ which means multiply by -2
$x=-28 \frac{1}{2} *-2=57$
