Romeo then seeks out Juliet's body, before he drinks the poison and dies. Outside of the monument, the Friar greets Balthasar. Once inside the monument, the Friar sees Romeo and Paris' dead bodies. He walks over to Juliet who is now awake. Juliet asks for Romeo, but the Friar tells her that Romeo and Paris are dead. The Friar tells Juliet that the watch is coming and that he can take her to a sisterhood of holy nuns. The Friar leaves thinking that Juliet will not leave. She sees that romeo drank poison, and she kisses him to try to poison herself. She then hears the watch, and takes Romeo's dagger and stabs herself. The Prince arrives at the scene shortly before the Capulets and Montagues. Their parents are devastated when they hear the news. Montague reveals that his wife also died because she was upset about Romeo's death. Friar Lawrence explained what happened, and it is confirmed by Balthasar. The two families end their long-standing feud, and the Prince says that Verona paid a high price.
