The width of the rectangles is 4.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Given that two rectangles have same width. So, let be the two rectangles R_{1} and R_{2} and width of rectangle is ‘x’. So, according to question, we have

Length of one rectangle , R_{1} = x + 1

Length of other rectangle, R_{2} = x + 2

But we also know that,

                  \text { Area of rectangle } = \text { Length } \times \text { width }

So,  then the area for one rectangle,

                \text { Area of rectangle } R_{1} = x \times(x+1)

Similarly,

                \text { Area of rectangle } R_{2} = x \times(x+2)

So, according to question,

                \text {Area of rectangle } R_{2} = 4 \times \text { Area of rectangle } R_{1}

                x \times(x+2) = 4+x \times(x+1)

Now, by solving the above equation, we get

                x^{2}+2 x = 4+x^{2}+x

                x = 4

So, from the above equation, we found that width of the rectangle is 4.

Suppose you have $2,000 to invest. In 4 years, you would like to purchase a new car and want a down payment of $3,500. What inte
Blababa [14]

Answer:

Rate = 14.07%

Step-by-step explanation:

A= P(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}

A= 3500

P= 2000

n = 12

t = 4

3500= 2000(1+\frac{r}{12})^{4 \times 12}\\\\\frac{3500}{2000} = (1+\frac{r}{12})^{48}\\\\\frac{7}{4} = (1+\frac{r}{12})^{48}\\\\1.75 = (1+\frac{r}{12})^{48}\\\\\sqrt[48]{1.75}  = (1+\frac{r}{12})\\\\\sqrt[48]{1.75}-1 = \frac{r}{12}\\\\0.01172688 = \frac{r}{12}\\\\r = 0.01172688 \times 12 = 0.14072267\\\\r \% = 14.07%

The ratio of football players to soccer players in the room was 5 to 7. If the football and soccer players in the room totaled 4
Anika [276]
There were 20 football players in the room. Because the ratio of football players to soccer players was 5 to 7, that meant that, should the ratio represent the actual number of football players in the room, there would be 12 football players in the room. However, the ratio has to be set equal to accomodate the 48 football players, therfore the 12 hypothetical players in the room would have to be multiplied by 4 to equalize. But that also means that everything else in the ratio will have to be multiplied by 4 to truly balance the ratio. Since there were 5 out of 12 football players, and there are actually 48 football players, and 12 times 4 equals 48, then 5 times 4 should give us our actual number of football players. Finally, some basic math will tell you that because 5 times 4 equals 20, and we can say that there are actually 20 football players in the room.
