Answer:

Appearance is different from reality.

Explanation:

Gary Soto's short story "Broken Chain" is about a young boy's attempts to impress a girl he likes. The protagonist, Alfonso would clean himself up, making himself more presentable and cleaner than usual, even trying to change his crooked teeth. All these for the girl Sandra's attention. The story is full of an individual trying to appear like other people, making sure he does not appear inferior. The theme of appearance and reality is the main issue it this story and it is rightly seen through the character of Alfonso.

Which idea is developed in the passage?
GaryK [48]

Answer:

D. The beauty around the village causes the speaker to think about his childhood.

Explanation:

Poetry is a type of writing that focuses on figurative language, the aesthetic qualities of the words and lines, and the overall meaning of the words in many cases. The characteristics of poetry can vary significantly according to the specific genre or type of poetry being read, though most poetry shares some common characteristics. Figurative language is any word or phrase that has a meaning besides the dictionary definition, and this type of language is exceptionally common in most forms of poetry. Other characteristics include rhyme, meter, enjambment, and other poetic devices intended to draw attention to the nature of language.

Consider Koskoosh's memory of the bull moose. What
Bogdan [553]

This question is incomplete. Here's the complete question.

Read The law of life, by Jack London

Consider Koskoosh's memory of the bull moose. What  meaning does this memory contribute to the story's  central themes?

Answer: The moose´s death, as Koskoosh´s, becomes a symbol of the law of life, as every living creature is meant to die someday.

Explanation:

Koskoosh recollection about a sick old moose being left behind by the rest of the heard and subsequently getting killed by wolves, reminds him of his mortality, as he realizes that his situation is the same. Koskoosh himself has become old and been left behind to die by his tribe. And he understands that, despite any efforts to fight it, death is part of the law of life.

Snezhnost [94]
1. The POV is first person, because the narrator says ‘I’ when speaking about themself

2. When someone laughs on the street late at night you can hear it for miles, and usually if you’re able to hear it that means you’re not doing something exactly enjoyable?

3. I’m not too sure about this one, but I did some:

The cab I had was a little old but smelled like someone’s just wiped down the leather. I rarely get those fragrant kind of cabs if I go anywhere late at night. It was so quiet out, though hardly lonesome. There weren’t many people out on the street because most everyone was staying in with loved ones and relaxing. Now and then you just saw a boy and a girl crossing a street, with the arms around each other’s waist and all, or a bunch of energetic looking guys and their dates, all of them laughing like birds in the morning at something clever that had been said. New York’s amazing when someone laughs on the street very late at night. You can hear it for miles. It makes you feel like you’re not alone at all.
