Which excerpt from "Marion Anderson Sings" best supports the idea that Anderson helped ease discrimination for African American

performers?
"When her tour schedule brought her to Washington, D.C., in 1939, the choice was obvious: the city’s largest and grandest concert venue, Constitution Hall. Anderson’s manager wrote to make arrangements."

"How would Anderson like to sing on Easter Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial? It would be an outdoor concert, free, open to all—and with no segregation."

"But across the footlights Anderson often saw only white faces. In many cities, in the South especially, people of her own race had to sit up in the balcony."

Answer:

Answer is Option B: How would Anderson like to sing on Easter Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial? It would be an outdoor concert, free, open to all—and with no segregation."

Explanation:

Marion Anderson was a renowned African American singer. But she was initially denied to a concert hall in Washington D.C. his was one of the cases of racial discrimination that blacks had to face in U.S. But then with the help of first lady, "Eleanor Roosevelt" and "President Roosevelt", Marain was able to sing in an open-air concert. She was allowed to sing on the steps of Lincoln Memorial.

Option B mentions that the concert will have no segregation or discrimination and would be open for all. Thus, this statement shows that Anderson helped ease discrimination for African American performers.

Would you prefer to live in the centre of a busy city or in a quiet neighborhood give examples and reasons to support your view
Leokris [45]

Answer:

Quiet neighborhood

Explanation:

What would you prefer? A busy city or a quiet neighborhood. This is a question that may trouble your brain. In my opinion, both of these have their pros and cons. A city with commercial needs and daily life resources is hustling and busy. In contrast, a quiet neighborhood is where you can observe the beautiful greenery and nature around you, and go around with your daily work without any disturbance. Living in a city, there are many cons such as the city has many factories which can cause health issues but in a quiet neighborhood, you can live a healthy life but the con is that the neighborhoods are mostly away from the main civilization. Cities generally have better infrastructure, an education system, and advanced health care facilities. You get to meet people from all walks of life, and learn to coexist with people from different ethnicity, race, caste, and culture; hence you become more tolerant, and open-minded and start respecting each other differences. Whereas countryside people are less tolerant, the caste system still prevails and the powers lie with a certain group of people.

A thesis statement is generally the first few sentences of your writing to help get your readers interested in what they'll be reading. So, if your thesis is unclear, they'll be confused about what's going on before anything even happens.
