A tragedy is a genre of drama in literature that is mainly characterized by its sad and depressing ending but A comedy is a genre of drama in literature that is characterized by its happy and vivacious ending.

The basic difference between a comedy and a tragedy is that tragedies are sad and depressing, full of drama, etc. and comedies are happy and hilarious! You'll want to laugh the whole way through.
(Fun Fact: Comedies and Tragedies originated in Ancient Greece)

Shakespeare builds tension in the play by having the witches mysteriously appear and dissapear. Through dramatic irony he is giving the audience more information about the witches then the characters. They are thinking whether to trust the witches or not, but we already know that they shouldn’t.
