I think Max despised the Prussians soldiers for the destruction that they had brought upon. But his mind was changed when a friend of his had justified that soldiers shouldn't suffer just because their king and emperor could not come up with a better agreement.

7. Lack of sleep because we become restless and are filled with anxious thoughts.
