Let smallest piece weigh x pounds then
x + 2x + 4x + 8x = 10

15x = 10
x = 2/3

so weights of the pieces in ascending order is 2/3 , 4/3, 8/3 and 16/3 pounds

or as mixed numbers 2/3, 1 1/3 , 2 2/3 and 5 1/3 pounds
