A 20-tooth spur pinion has a diametral pitch of 8, runs at 1200 rev/min, and drives a gear at a speed of 400 rev/min. Find the n

Answer:

number of teeth = 60 teeth

center to center distance = 5 in

Explanation:

Given data

diametral pitch p = 8

no of teeth pinion n = 20

speed s = 1200 rev /min

gear speed Sg= 400 rev/min

to find out

number of teeth in gear and distance

solution

we will find here number of teeth in gear by formula that is

number of teeth = p×dg    ............1

dg = s/sg × dp

and dp = 20/8 = 2.5

so

dg = s/sg × dp

dg = 1200/ 400 × 2.5

dg = 7.5

so from equation 1

number of teeth = p×dg

number of teeth = 8 × 7.5

number of teeth = 60 teeth

and

center to center distance will be calculate by formula

center to center distance  = ( dp + dg ) / 2

center to center distance = ( 2.5 + 7.5 ) / 2

center to center distance = 5 in

Flyer Company sells a product in a competitive marketplace. Market analysis indicates that its product would probably sell at $4
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

Option (B) is correct.

Explanation:

Given that,

Selling price per unit = $48

Desired profit margin on sales = 12.5%

Flyer’s current full cost for the product = $44 per unit

Profit = Selling price × profit margin

         = $48 × 12.5%

         = $6

Target cost of unit = Selling price - Profit

                               = $48 - $6

                               = $42

Smith Corporation makes and sells a single product called a Pod. Each Pod requires 2.4 direct labor-hours at $10.60 per direct l
kramer

Answer:

$585,120

Explanation:

The computation of Budgeted direct labor costs is shown below:-

Direct labor cost per pod = Direct labor required per pod x Direct labor rate

= 2.4 × $10.60

= $25.44

Budgeted direct labor costs incurred in June = Direct labor cost per pod × Produced pods

= $25.44 × 23,000

= $585,120

Therefore for computing the budgeted direct labor costs we simply applied the above formula.

Later, the teaching assistant in Bob's chemistry course gives him some advice. "Based on past experience," the teaching assistan
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

1 hour working on problems, 3 hours reading

Explanation:

the question is not complete:

Bob is a hard-working college freshman. One Tuesday, he decides to work nonstop until he has answered 200 practice problems for his chemistry course. He starts work at 8:00 AM and uses a table to keep track of his progress throughout the day. He notices that as he gets tired, it takes him longer to solve each problem.

Time                   Total Problems Answered       Marginal gain

8:00 AM                         0

9:00 AM                        80                                        80

10:00 AM                     140                                        60

11:00 AM                      180                                        40

Noon                          200                                        20

Since Bob's is able to answer more than 70 questions per hours only during one hour (from 8 to 9 AM), he can benefit more from reading the next 3 hours. Reading would be equivalent to answering 210 questions, while Bob was only able to answer 120 more questions in the following 3 hours.

In 1924, the famous novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote an article for the Saturday Evening Post entitled ?How to live on $36,000
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

$4,267,059

Explanation:

to determine the equivalent amount of money between 1924 and 2008, we must divide the 2008 CPI by the 1924 CPI, and then multiply by $36,000:

= (2015 / 17) x $36,000 = 118.53 x $36,000 = $4,267,059

The consumer price index measures the weighted price of basket of goods . It is useful for calculating inflation and comparing how the purchasing value of the US dollar has decreased in time. Basically what this shows us, is that $1 in 1924 would purchase the same amount of goods as $118.53 in 2008.
