4. Using the formula for the volume of a cylinder, , find h when V = 141.3 and r = 3. Use pi = 3.14.
olya-2409 [2.1K]

\text{The formula of a volume of a cylinder}\\\\V=\pi r^2h\\\\\text{We have}\ V=141.3\ \text{and}\ r=3.\ \text{Substitute}\\\\\pi(3^2)h=141.3\\\\9\pi h=141.3\qquad|\text{divide both sides by}\ 9\pi\\\\h=\dfrac{141.3}{9\pi}\qquad|\text{use}\ \pi\approx3.14\\\\h=\dfrac{141.3}{9\cdot3.14}\\\\h=\dfrac{141.3}{28.26}\\\\\boxed{h=5}

6 sweets cost 42p altogether how much do 8 sweets cost
Eddi Din [679]
The best thing to do is to find the cost of one sweet, and to do this, divide 42 by 7.
42/7= 6
Therefore, one sweet costs 6p.
To find the cost of 8 sweets, you've got to multiply 6 by 8, and this gives you 54p.
Therefore, 8 sweets cost 54p
This is basically just finding unit rate and multiplying.

Hey can you please help me posted picture of question
MAXImum [283]
Answer:
The solutions of the equation are:
4/3 and 5/8

Explanation:
To get the solution of the equation, we can either solve it algebraically or graphically.

1- algebraic solution:
The general form of the quadratic equation is:
ax² + bx + c = 0
The given equation is:
24x² - 47x + 20 = 0
By comparison, we can find that:
a = 24
b = -47
c = 20

Now, to get the roots, we will use the quadratic equation shown in the attached image.

Substituting in the equation, we would find that:
either x = \frac{-(-47) +  \sqrt{(-47)^2-4(24)(20)} }{2(24)} =  \frac{4}{3}
or x = \frac{-(-47) - \sqrt{(-47)^2-4(24)(20)} }{2(24)} = \frac{5}{8}

2- graphical solution:
To get the solution means to get the values of the x-intercepts.
Graphing the function (see attached image), we would find that the solutions are:
0.625 which is equivalent to 5/8
and 1.3333 which is equivalent to 4/3

Hope this helps :)
