Hitler wanted to get his own back on the rest of Europe by taking the appeasement given to him by Britain and France and using it to his advantage and getting around the treaty in one way.</span>

This failure to apply the Southern code to enslaved Africans resulted in harsh treatment of slaves without remorse from southerners.
