The absolute value of -32 is positive 32. This is found by finding the distance of -32 to 0. The distance is positive 32 because you don’t use negative distance. Hope I helped!

32

The absolute value takes the distance from zero, it doesn’t matter weather it is positive or negatively

Ind the next term for the given sequence.52, 45, 38, 31,
o-na [289]
The answer is 24. To get from one term to the next, you have to find the difference. To get from 52 to 45, you minus 7. It is the same with the other terms. So 31 - 7 = 24

A boat is heading towards a lighthouse, whose beacon-light is 136 feet above the
alexandr1967 [171]

The distance between the points A to B is 899.9 feet. After rounding off the nearest integer we get 900 feet as the final answer.

Given we know that CD is perpendicular to AD.

The distance between CD is 139 feet.

As from points A the boat's crew measure the angle of elevation to the beacon as 6°

therefore, m∠A = 6°

Another time the angle of elevation is measured from point B which is 19°.

therefore, m∠DBC = 19°

tan 19° = CD/BD

BD = CD/tan19°

BD = 136/tan 19°

now for tan 6° = CD/AD (tangent is opposite over adjacent)

AD = CD/tan 6°

AD = 136/tan 6°

AB = AD ₋ BD

AB = 136/tan 6° ₋ 136/tan 19°

AB = 1295.2 ₋ 395.3

AB = 900 feet

hence the distance from point A to B is 900 feet.

An ice cube is made of 5 fluid ounces of water. About how many milliliters of water does it take to make an ice cube
Sergio [31]

ANSWER:

147.868 mL of water is required to make an ice cube.

SOLUTION:

Given that, an ice cube is made up of 5 fluid ounces of water.

We need to find how many milli liters of water does it require to make an ice cube.

For, that we have to convert 5 fluid ounces in to units of milli liters.

We know that, 1 US fluid ounce equals to 29.5735 milli liters. i.e. 1 US fluid ounce = 29.5735 mL

Now,

An ice cube is made by 5 fluid ounces = 5 x 1 fluid ounce

= 5 x 29.5735 mL = 147.868 mL

Hence, 147.868 mL of water is required to make an ice cube.
