In order to prevent chronic low back pain and further complications, the nurse will ask to limit the time of walking and sitting. the patient shall not stand for hours with low back pain, nor will the patient sit for hours in one posture. Both the postures i.e. prolonged sitting or continuous walking may exacerbate the pain. some activity like sitting and standing every now and then is essential to keep the low back muscles from stiffening. The patient needs to keep their posture straight i.e. bending the waist while lifting objects, twisting the waist, keeping the legs elevated thus shifting the load on back, are all prohibited and may increase severity of low back pain.
