Answer:

the cell will lose water

the cell is in a hypertonic solution

Explanation:

The solution is hypertonic while the cell is hypotonic. The cell will lose water to the solution since there are more solutes in the solution compared to the cell. Water moves to solution through osmosis. After osmosis occurs, the condition becomes isotonic.

Based on your knowledge of reproduction in bryophytes and ferns, is the presence of flagellated sperm in cycads surprising? Why
Alisiya [41]

Answer:

The correct answer is - All plants share a similar life cycle

Explanation:

The sperms that the bryophytes are biflagellated whereas in ferns these are multi-flagellated that helps in the swimming to the archegonia or female part to perform the fertilization, due to the presence of water.

The sperms in cycads also have flagella for the same purpose of swimming in the pollen tube. The ferns and the bryophytes both require the same or similar life cycle that includes the flagella and water for the formation of the zygote.

What are some possible future changes in the global climate?
Ugo [173]

The most probable future changes in the global climate are:

- Global warming;

If the levels of CO2 and methane increase enough in the atmosphere to be able to intensify the Greenhouse effect, than some portion of the ice on the planet will melt because of the rising temperatures, thus lifting up the sea level, creating more unpredictable weather with larger and stronger storms, but also making the mainland much drier. This would be a scenario if the continents are arranged like they are now, but if there isn't a sufficient mass of land on and around the poles, than all of the ice will melt and the sea levels will rise so much that the planet will come in the ''water planet'' scenario, and it will have wet tropical climate pretty much everywhere on the planet.

- Ice Age;

If there's a disruption in the warm ocean streams and some of them disappear, or the levels of nitrogen or oxygen increase in the atmosphere, the Earth will start to cool off, thus coming to a situation of an Ice Age. In this kind of situation, there will be large ice sheets on and around the poles that are stretching much further towards the lower latitudes, as well as mountains all over the world that are covered in snow and shaped by glaciers.

the frequency of a wave in a stretched string depends on the length L, tension T and linear density m with dimension ML-1 . dedu
spin [16.1K]

Answer:

f = \frac{1 }{L}\sqrt{\frac{T}{m} }

Explanation:

Let the frequency ,

f = L^{x}T^{y}m^{z}

Now the unit of frequency is hertz = s⁻¹ = T⁻¹ where T is time, tension T = kgm/s² = MLT⁻¹ and linear density m = kg/m = ML⁻¹.

So,

T^{-1}  = L^{x}[MLT^{-2} ]^{y}[ML^{-1} ]^{z}\\

collecting the like bases, we have

T^{-1} = [L^{x + y -z}][M^{y + z} ][T^{-2y} ] \\L^{0} M^{0} T^{-1} = [L^{x + y -z}][M^{y + z} ][T^{-2y} ]

Equating powers on both sides, we have

x + y - z = 0  (1)

y + z = 0       (2)

-2y = -1         (3)

From (3), y = 1/2

From (2), z = -y = -1/2

Substituting y and z into (1), we have

x + y - z = 0

x + 1/2 - (-1/2) = 0

x + 1/2 + 1/2 = 0

x + 1 = 0

x = -1

So,

f = L^{x}T^{y}m^{z}\\f = L^{-1}T^{\frac{1}{2} }m^{\frac{-1}{2} }

f = \frac{1 }{L}\sqrt{\frac{T}{m} }

What disease is transmitted from bats to humans and produces the signs/symptoms displayed by this patient?
Dominik [7]
Disease that can be transmitted from bats to humans probably rabies.

Rabies is caused by a virus and can be transmitted by mammalian like dogs or bats. The symptoms can be fever, partial paralysis, anxiety, paranoia, hypersalivation(excessive drooling), hydrophobia(fear of water/drinking).
