Answer : The time required would be, 60.0 hours

Explanation :

Half-life = 15 hr

First we have to calculate the rate constant, we use the formula :

k=\frac{0.693}{t_{1/2}}

k=\frac{0.693}{15\text{ hr}}

k=0.0462\text{ hr}^{-1}

Now we have to calculate the time passed.

Expression for rate law for first order kinetics is given by:

t=\frac{2.303}{k}\log\frac{a}{a-x}

where,

k = rate constant  = 0.0462\text{ hr}^{-1}

t = time passed by the sample  = ?

a = initial amount of the reactant  = 0.010 mol

a - x = amount left after decay process = 6.25 × 10⁻⁴ mol

Now put all the given values in above equation, we get

t=\frac{2.303}{0.0462}\log\frac{0.010}{6.25\times 10^{-4}}

t=60.0\text{ hr}

Therefore, the time required would be, 60.0 hours

A)The plates are all moving in the same direction
nevsk [136]
I believe the answer is C) there is an obvious reasoning for this all you have to do is eliminate answers that don't seem right for example, A)the plates are all moving the same direction every plate moves in different directions. B) The plates are all the same size. Well, it's really obvious that that is not true because every plate has its different shape and size. D) where two plates meet, they always move apart. If this were true, then we would never have earthquakes when plates meet earthquakes happen. so there for the answer is C)

Think about the lab procedure you just read. Label each factor below with V for “variable” or C for “constant”.
luda_lava [24]
<h2>Answer:</h2><h3>The temperature of the gas: V</h3>

The temperature of gas is a variable quantity. It can be changed by changing energy or pressure of gas.

<h3>The amount of gas in the tube (in terms of mass and moles): C</h3>

It is a constant entity. As mass of gas once taken can not be changed by changing temperature, pressure etc.

<h3>The radius of the tube: C</h3>

The radius of tube cannot change at any rate.

<h3>The temperature of the gas (changed by the water surrounding it):  V</h3>

It can be changed by changing the temperature of water surrounding it.

<h3>The type of gas: C</h3>

It can never be changed.

<h3>The pressure of the gas: V</h3>

It can be changed by simply changing temperature and volume of gas.

How does conduction happen?
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

Conduction is the process by which heat energy is transmitted through collisions between neighboring atoms or molecules. ... The fire's heat causes molecules in the pan to vibrate faster, making it hotter. These vibrating molecules collide with their neighboring molecules, making them also vibrate faster.
