The Enlightenment was called sometimes the 'Age of Enlightenment', was a late 17th- and 18th-century. The Enlightenment presented a challenge to traditional religious views. The ideas of the Enlightenment inspired both the American and French Revolution.

The Revolution was based on the principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity. Philosophers of the Enlightenment, known as philosophes, favored limited monarchy, freedom of speech, and equality.

The Enlightenment of the French Revolution is the effect of the Thirty Years' War which lasted between 1618 and 1648. Enlightenment means things that could accumulate into great human improvements. So, for the French Revolution, in the end the war wore down and people began to realize how precious society is and that you can't always fight over things. This is Enlightenment.

Why did the Second Bank of the United States make such an inviting target for President Jackson?
melisa1 [442]

President Jackson was strongly against the Second Bank of the US, because of that he vetoed it.

He vetoed it because he saw the Bank as a bank only for the privileged ones, as the President saw himself as a spokesman for the common people against the elite.

The President saw this as a way to increase his popularity among his voters.
