Did the United States keep its promise in the teller amendment? Why or why not?

Answer:

The Teller Amendment, signed between Cuba and the United States, proclaimed that the United States would not annex Cuba after helping Cuban people to achieve their freedom from Spain.

We could say that the United States kept its promise, although, in 1903, Cuba was forced to sign a deal where it will be treated as a protectorate of the United States. After Spanish left the island, the U.S. forces occupied Cuba, but it wasn’t annexed because of the Teller Amendment.
