Harriet Welsch is an 11 year old who wishes to be a spy. Harriet comes from a well-off family. She doesn’t have many friends. She considers her nurse her best of friends. Every day, Harriet follows a certain routine, wherein she arrives home, eat and spy along her neighbours. She was so used to this routine when suddenly; her nurse found a lover and had decided to get married with. Because of this Harriet got mad and threw a tantrum. She lost her spy notebook which went to the hand of her classmates. Her classmates had used her spy notebook for their advantage, thus this lead to revenge by both parties.

What figurative language device was used to describe Teddy and Trevor’s relationship? Explain how it applies and cite evidence t
Alex

The figurative language device used is the simile. This can be seen when Trevor claims that the relationship between him and Teddy was like a "house on fire."

We can arrive at this answer because:

 • The simile is a figure of speech that allows an explicit comparison to be made between two elements.
 • This type of comparison is always performed using the words "like" or "as."
 • When Trevor talks about his relationship with Teddy, he states that "Teddy and I got along like a house on fire," allowing the simile to be noticed.

This question is about the book "Born a Crime."
