sqrt (-108) - sqrt (-3)

sqrt(-1) sqrt(108) - sqrt(-1) sqrt(3)

sqrt(-1)*sqrt(36)*sqrt(3)-sqrt(-1)sqrt(3)

sqrt(-1)sqrt(3) (6-1)

isqrt(3)5

5isqrt(3)

answer : Option A

\sqrt{-108} - \sqrt{-3}

first we simplify each square root

The value of square root (-1) = i, to remove negative inside the square root we use 'i'

\sqrt{-108} =\sqrt{-36* 3}= 6i\sqrt{3}

\sqrt{-3} = i\sqrt{3} (we cannot simplify square root (3))

\sqrt{-108} - \sqrt{-3}

6i\sqrt{3} - i\sqrt{3}

Both are like terms, so we subtract it

5i\sqrt{3}

5\sqrt{3} i

If f is a scalar field and F, G are vector fields, then f F, F · G, and F × G are defined by the following. (f F)(x, y, z) = f(x
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider curl (fF) where f is a scalar function and F is a vector function

                  F=F_{1}i +F_{2}j +F_{3}k

                     i         j          k

curl(fF) = \frac{\partial}{\partial x}      \frac{\partial}{\partial y}      \frac{\partial}{\partial z}

                  fF_{1}    fF_{2}    fF_{3}

curl(fF)=i(\frac{\partial}{\partial y}(fF_{3})-\frac{\partial}{\partial z}(fF_{2}))-j(\frac{\partial}{\partial x}(fF_{3})-\frac{\partial}{\partial z}(fF_{1}))+k(\frac{\partial}{\partial x}(fF_{2})-\frac{\partial}{\partial y}(fF_{1}))

=i(\frac{\partial}{\partial y}(F_{3})+\frac{\partial}{\partial y}(f)-\frac{\partial}{\partial z}(F_{2})-\frac{\partial}{\partial z}(f))-j(\frac{\partial}{\partial x}(F_{3})+\frac{\partial}{\partial x}(f)-\frac{\partial}{\partial z}(F_{1})-\frac{\partial}{\partial z}(f))+k(\frac{\partial}{\partial x}(F_{2})+\frac{\partial}{\partial x}(f)-\frac{\partial}{\partial y}(F_{1})-\frac{\partial}{\partial y}(f))

curl(fF)=f(\Delta\times F)+(\Delta f)\times F

I am trying to figure this question: <br><br> 1 + tan^2A = Sec^2A
chubhunter [2.5K]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the Pythagorean identity

cos²A + sin²A = 1 ( divide terms by cos²A )

\frac{cos^2A}{cos^2A} + \frac{sin^2A}{cos^2A} = \frac{1}{cos^2A} , that is

1 + tan²A = sec²A ← as required
