General Sherman attacked the civilian infrastructure between Atlanta and Savannah to suppress the Army of  Tennessee

Explanation

Sherman referred to his march from Atlanta to Savannah as "to make Georgia Howl”.

His move was entirely tactical and considered him as the first to do this in America.

He destroyed farms, burned crops and wrecked rails to destroy the sources of the army that stood against him.

By this, he brought the war to the end, rather than proceeding to fight resulting in zero casualties.

PLEASE HELP WITH MY SOCIAL STUDIES ABOUT WORLD WAR 2!
anzhelika [568]
The Second World War was history's largest and most significant armed conflict. It served as the breeding ground for the modern structure of security and intelligence, and for the postwar balance of power that formed the framework for the Cold War. Weapons, materiel, and actual combat, though vital to the Allies' victory over the Axis, did not alone win the war. To a great extent, victory was forged in the work of British and American intelligence services, who ultimately overcame their foes' efforts. Underlying the war of guns and planes was a war of ideas, images, words, and impressions—intangible artifacts of civilization that yielded enormous tangible impact for the peoples of Europe, east Asia, and other regions of the world.

What conflict within canada made it hard for them to gain self rule
stiks02 [169]

The tensions between the French speaking,Catholic descendants of French colonists and the English speaking,Protestant British population and government.

Ideas that the USA was planning any invasion of Canada in 1865 or just after are nonsense - Britain had sold far more war materiel to the Union than the Confederacy during the Civil War,the Union army was needed to enforce Reconstruction on US citizens in the South, and any war with Britain would have seen the huge British navy establish a blockade of the US coast and cripple the US economy - as it had done in the War of !812.President Johnson was aware of all of this,so had no intention - or desire to - attack Canada.
