Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina. Paraguay, Uruguay, southern Chile, and Argentina make up Southern South America. Much of the land is pampas. These are grassy plains good for raising sheep and cattle. Even though the southern tip of South America is stormy and freezing cold, it is called Tierra del Fuego, or Land of Fire. Argentina is one of the largest countries in Southern South America. About 1 out of every 3 Argentinians live in the capital city of Buenos Aires.
