Now, the main difference between these two masses of stars is the speed in which such fuel is burned or fused. A small star's life will last longer because it burns these gases at a slower rate than a large star's. This is so because the pressure and temperature in a large star's core are way bigger and it will tend to collapse faster than a small star.
