The need for labor in the American wilderness was solved through the selling of the black people who were<em> imported</em> to the Americans. One example of this is the case in Virginia in <em>1619</em> when the black people arrive in the state. They arrived there as slaves who were bound to work until such time that <u>their service would expire.</u> This allowed the Americans to have helpers, especially in their production of crops like cotton and in <em>other agricultural sectors.</em> This made the Americans very prosperous.
