Lawyer and US Representative.
Assassinated during second term.
Led nation during Civil War.
Ended Slavery.
Based on the comparison notes of Washington and Lincoln, which aspects of their backgrounds do NOT seem to have an effect on their success as president?

The birthplace and young life home of anybody is irrelevant to their success later in life since one's knowledge and capabilities for a job such as the presidential office comes with higher education.
In the case of George Washington, owning slaves may speak of Washington as a person, but it doesn't play a role in his performance as president, neither does his two-term service, as quantity of time does not necessarily equal quality in the job. It may be argued whether his "Founding Father" signature is of any significance in here, but it is undeniable evidence of his participation in the creation of a country, and his service as first president of such.
In the case of Abraham Lincoln, his assassination doesn't relate to his quality as president, as it was a subsequent event to his service, and there could be numerous reasons for its explanation.
