Answer:

"Alliances were a key factor in the emergence of World War I, and they also played a significant role in the Second World War".

Explanation:

The very first alliance was between France and England prior to first World War and followed by “Tripartite Act” between Germany and Italy, Japan supported it afterwards, and built an "Axis coalition". Since Germany pressured the arm of England into Czechoslovakia, UK and France offered Poland a promising independence. But as soon as Germany conquered Poland, France and Britain launched an attack on Germany by cancelling their deal.

After this Germany threatened the ability of the French army to wage war, Italy soon joined Germans and became a pressurized force for Germany to interfere in both Greece and North Africa on their behalf, though Italy proved incapable of fighting them. Russia and Japan followed this allies later back to back.

In order to avoid wars further "The Versailles treaty" signed at the end of WWI. Still WW2 occurred unfortunately, the reason was World War I's peace agreement, as the expectations for peace disproportionately oppressed the German people, consequently fostering a fertile national mood for Nazi oppression.
