What was a major cause of nativist attitudes during the 1920s?
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

the controversial trial of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti was a major cause of nativist attitudes during the 1920s.

Answer: Option C

Explanation:

During the early period of 20th Century, there was influx of immigrants in U.S. giving rise to the nativism in America. This led to growing diversity of religion, language, culture, etc. which caused great fear and anxiety in the minds of the natives and also led to the adoption of racial attitude towards the immigrants.

Nativism saw its zenith during the trial of Bartolomeo Vanzetti and Nicola Sacco who were the immigrants from Italy and they were accused of robbery and murder. Despite the lack in incriminating evidence they were declared guilty by the jury and finally executed on 23rd August 1927.
