Chile is a country located in South America, bordering the Pacific Ocean and a small part of the Atlantic Ocean. Its neighbours are Argentina, Peru and Bolivia. When considering the distance between its northernmost point and its southernmost point, Chile extends 4,270 km (2,653 mi), making it the longest country in the world. Moreover, its unusual shape is also influenced by the fact that it is a very narrow country, extending only 177 km (110 mi) east to west.
