Answer: dig of complete question in attachment

This set up demonstrated osmosis.

The two solutions will contain almost the same concentration of glucose. That is solution A will contain  almost  equal number of glucose molecules as  solution B. This is an isotonic solution, because of approximate concentration of glucose on both sides. There is even diffusion of water molecules to and fro of the two solutions A  and B, at the same rate which leads to equilibrium in the glucose molecules on both sides.

klio [65]

Answer:

A: By breaking and reforming chemical bonds in the molecules

Explanation:

There is energy stored in chemical bonds between food molecules, called ATP.  When chemical bonds are created, some energy is stored in those bonds.  When one of these bonds are broken, the energy that was stored is released, and can then be used by your body.  Your body then uses a different type of energy, called ADP, to reform the bonds, which then go on to become waste products.

I hope this helps!

What would happen if the concentration of H+ ions were the same on both
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

A. H+ ions would not flow

Explanation:

Generally if the amount of a substance is equal on both sides of a semi-permeable membrane, nothing is going to happen unless active transport takes place.

However, in this case, nothing would happen since active transport doesn't seem to be used, as I've mentioned before.

What is the difference between independent and dependent variables
trasher [3.6K]

The two main variables in an experiment are the independent and dependent variable.

An independent variable is the variable that is changed or controlled in a scientific experiment to test the effects on the dependent variable.

A dependent variable is the variable being tested and measured in a scientific experiment.

The dependent variable is 'dependent' on the independent variable. As the experimenter changes the independent variable, the effect on the dependent variable is observed and recorded.

For example, a scientist wants to see if the brightness of light has any effect on a moth being attracted to the light. The brightness of the light is controlled by the scientist. This would be the independent variable. How the moth reacts to the different light levels (distance to light source) would be the dependent variable.

When results are plotted in graphs, the convention is to use the independent variable as the x-axis and the dependent variable as the y-axis.
