1:It led to a westward migration of people looking for new lands to farm.

3:It led to the growth of US trade along the Mississippi waterway.

Explanation:

 • When the agreement was finalized in 1803, many Americans, including government officials, were freed because the Louisiana Purchase ended the crisis over control of the Mississippi River. The huge land acquisition was seen as a secondary triumph.
 • Buying, however, would have a big impact on America's future. In total, 15 states, in whole or in part, will be cut from land acquired from France in 1803: Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming.
 • While the acquisition of Louisiana came as a surprising development, it would profoundly change America and help usher in the Manifest Destiny era.

The checks and balances system in the Constitution is important because it helps to prevent any one branch of government from gaining too much power. The three main branches are the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Here are some examples. The President can veto a bill passed by Congress, preventing it from becoming law. This is an executive branch check on the legislative branch. In turn, the Congress can vote to override that veto with a two thirds majority in both the Senate and House, and the bill will become law. This is a Legislative check on the Executive branch. Finally, the Supreme Court, when ruling on a case, decide to use its power of judicial review to declare some law of Congress or act of the President unconstitutional. This is a judicial check on both the executive and legislative branches. Hope this helps

Which of the following was not one of the results of the Civil War?
insens350 [35]
I do not know the answer, but if I were to guess, that it would be the one about plantations.

Plantations were hotspots of manual labor, specifically slaves. And when slaves were outlawed the plantation owners lose there main source of “profit” (aka the need to not pay workers for manual labor and instead use that money to get more laborers) it seems like the logical answer to me.

Also using process of elimination we know that the war could have spilt the country in two. So the union was indeed saved.

Which of the following is Dr. King criticizing in this portion of his speech? Select all of the boxes that apply.
insens350 [35]

The correct answers are B) segregation laws of the South, C) high poverty rates among African Americans and D) discrimination.

Dr. King is criticizing these issues in his speech: segregation laws of the South, high poverty rates among African Americans and discrimination.

In his famous speech, Martin Luther King again defends African American civil rights and invites people to reflect on the issue of segregation and injustice. He refers to the segregation laws of the South that had affected and divided society in incidents such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott in the city of Montgomery, Alabama. He also referred to the increasing and high poverty rates that hurt black people and limited their possibilities to grow and prosper, and finally, the issue of discrimination and the effect on the United States society.
