Read this passage:
fiasKO [112]

Answer:

Explanation:

There is a whole lot going on in this scene, but I think there are 2 things you should keep in mind:

  • The power is shifting. Macbeth no longer needs Lady Macbeth to goad him on. He is hiding from her a key piece of this thinking. The first lines of the speech tell you that. Be innocent of the knowledge, Till thou (can) applaud the deed. He is planning the murder of Banquo and he really doesn't want her input. He is telling her that she must wait till the murder is done and then what he has been doing will be apparent. Everybody comments on those lines because it is a foreshadow of many things to come. One of the most obvious is Lady Macbeth's madness.
  • The rest of the speech has to do with his walk in the path of evil. He prefers night to day, because all is hidden by night.

Explain whatever you know about the story The monkeys paw ?
lora16 [44]

Answer:

There are three wishes made with the paw while there are also consequence for the wish.

The first wish, is when the Whites did not really believe in the paw, and thought it was a joke, so Mr. White wished 200 pounds. They did got the money afterwards, but their son, Herbert, got mangled in some machine and died, and so they received 200 pounds as a compensation.

The second wish is Mrs. Whites wants Herbert to live again. We should assume that he did got "alive" since in the story someone was knocking fiercely after the wish. However, we need to remember, Herbert died from machine mangling, which means his whole body is basically break in corpse. So the compensation is Herbert's corpse got "alive".

The third wish is Mr.White wished Herbert dead. However, this is not told in the story but it is foreshadowed because after his wish, the knocking goes away.
