Answer:

Let the distance from home to the park be x

Going to the park

Distance=vt

x=14t¹ ——(1)

Going back home

x=10t² ——(2)

Total time=t¹+t²

2.5=t¹+t²

Solving equ. 1 and 2 simultaneously

10x=140t¹

14x=140t²

Adding

4x=140(t¹+t²)

24x=140(2.5)

x=14.58 miles

Total distance= 2x

= 29.16miles

Answer:

x = \frac{2}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

\frac{3x}{2} - \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{3} + \frac{x}{4}

Multiply through by 12 ( the LCM of 2, 3 and 4 ) to clear the fractions

18x - 6 = 4 + 3x ( subtract 3x from both sides )

15x - 6 = 4 ( add 6 to both sides )

15x = 10 ( divide both sides by 15 )

x = \frac{10}{15} = \frac{2}{3}

Jennifer is four less than three times Toby's age. If Jennifer is 23, then how old is Toby? equation: solution:
agasfer [191]

Answer:

T = Toby

T=(23+4)/3

Step-by-step explanation:

If Jennifer’s age is 4 less than 3 times Toby’s age then Jennifer’s age by three,

T=(23+4)/3

and 3 times that, so we divide

T=(23+4)/3

Then Toby is 9 years of age, and shouldn’t be driving.

Mariana is taking a multiple choice test with a total of 80 points available. Each question is worth exactly 4 points. What woul
Sladkaya [172]

Mariana's score if got right if she got 5 wrong is 60 points.

Mariana's score if got right if she got xx wrong is 80 - 4xx.

<h3>What is Mariana's score?</h3>

The first step is to determine the number of questions that Mariana got right. In order to get the number of questions that she got right, subtract the total number of number of questions from the questions that he got wrong.

Questions that Mariana got right = total number of questions - questions he got wrong

Total number of questions = total number of points / point of each question

Total number of questions = 80 / 4

Total number of questions = 20

Questions that Mariana got right if he got 5 wrong = 20 - 5 = 15

Mariana's score = questions she got right x number of points per question

Mariana's score = 15 x 4 = 60 points

Questions that Mariana got right if he got x wrong = 20 - xx

Mariana's score = (20 - xx) x 4

Mariana's score = 80 - 4xx
