Adaptation is any change or adjustment in structure of organisms' body parts or their habit/life style to make them better fitted in their environment for their survival and multiplicity i.e. increasing their population through reproduction. It is an evolutionary process which occurs through natural selection.

For example ducks' webbed feet allow them to swim faster in the water. The blending of moths with their environment is an example of camouflage adaptation.
