Looking at the slope of the "best-fit" line, you can see that for every two hours of homework, 15 more points are scored. (compare t=0 to t=2).

For t=5, the line seems to go through 47.5. So for t=7, which is two hours more, you'd expect a score of 47.5+15 = 62.5.

That answer is in the list, so I'd choose that.

In reality, you would never be able to have any score you like just by putting more hours in, so this can never be a straight line forever...

let's firstly convert the mixed fractions to improper fractions and then subtract, bearing in mind that the LCD of 4 and 2 is 4.

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{8\frac{3}{4}}\implies \cfrac{8\cdot 4+3}{8}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{35}{4}}~\hfill \stackrel{mixed}{7\frac{1}{2}}\implies \cfrac{7\cdot 2+1}{2}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{15}{2}} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \cfrac{35}{4}-\cfrac{15}{2}\implies \stackrel{\textit{using the LCD of 4}}{\cfrac{(1)35~~-~~(2)15}{4}}\implies \cfrac{35-30}{4}\implies \cfrac{5}{4}

A computer manufacturer has found that its expenditure rate per day (in hundreds of dollars) on a certain type of job is given b
Anna35 [415]

Answer:

The expenditure would be $ 8600

Step-by-step explanation:

If the cost is given by the function

C(x)= 10x + 6   where x is the number of days

The cost for 1 day would be

C(1)= 16 *100 = 1600 $  ( the expenses are in hundreds of dollars)

Then Putting x= 8 in the given equation we get

C(8)= 10(8) + 6

= 86

Multiplying 86 by 100 because expenditure rate per day  is in hundreds of dollars

The expenditure would be $ 8600
