Mr. Johnson is giving a lesson on enzymes in his freshman biology class. Mr. Johnson displays six beakers with either a chemical

substrate or chemical enzyme in them. He tells the class that each of the substrates will spontaneously degrade over a set period of time. He asks the class to identify what would happen if he were able to apply the correct enzyme to the correct substrate. Which of the following is the best answer to give Mr. Johnson? A The reaction would stop immediately. B The reaction would be maintained. C The reaction rate would increase. D The reaction rate would decrease.

Answer:

The reaction rate would increase

Explanation:

Enzymes are organic catalysts produced to control the chemical reactions. enzymes are specific in the reactions they catalyze. An enzyme will only catalyze one specific reaction. When appropriate enzymes and substrates are added, the rate of reaction increases steadily. The substrate fits in the active site of the enzyme. This forms an enzyme-substrate complex. The enzyme speeds up product formation. The products formed separate from the enzyme so that other substrate molecules can fit into the active site.

PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer: Stratified

Explanation:

The stratified sampling can be defined as the sampling from the population which is partitioned or divided into many parts.

Here, the lady has divided her day into three parts morning, afternoon and evening.

This is a way which is used to take sample randomly from the population. therefore, Keri took 4 random sample from each part of the day.

This is a type of stratified sampling.

please give 2-3 examples (for each one) of producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers, and quaternary
Elis [28]
Producers:

One example of producers found in food chains include plants. They use photosynthesis to make their own food. Examples of plants include trees, grass, moss, flowers, and weeds, to name a few.

Primary consumers are herbivores, feeding on plants. Caterpillars, insects, grasshoppers, termites and hummingbirds are all examples of primary consumers because they only eat autotrophs (plants).

Types of Secondary Consumers
Spiders, snakes, and seals are all examples of carnivorous secondary consumers. Omnivores are the other type of secondary consumer. They eat both plant and animal materials for energy. Bears and skunks are examples of omnivorous secondary consumers that both hunt prey and eat plants.

In the real world, a tertiary consumer can eat many different animals and even plants sometimes. This means that they can actually be carnivorous or omnivorous. Some examples of tertiary consumers include, birds of prey, big cats, and foxes.

Valine is an amino acid used to make proteins. It is an essential amino acid meaning the body cannot synthesize it and thus, it
valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

The correct option is Option C i.e. its hydrophobic.

Explanation:

The side chain of valine is isopropyl group. It is a hydrocarbon side chain. Isopropane is a hydrophobic compound. So as it joins with the amino acid skeleton as a variable group, it makes the whole amino acid hydrophobic.

Its hydrophobic nature is well evident from the disease of sickle cell anaemia. The replacement of hydrophilic glutamate by hydrophobic valine makes the interaction of haemoglobin by changing other components.
