I MET a traveller from an antique land Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert ... Near them, on the

sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage [face] lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which still survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal these words appear: "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.
Select one piece of evidence that supports the situational irony of the poem.

A From an antique land

B Cold command

C Boundless and bare

D Those passions read

Answer: The correct answer is BOUNDLESS AND BARE. Trust me, I've just got 100% on the test.

Explanation: This supports the irony of the poem because the once boastful king who would say, "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" has now no audience to look upon his work. (I don't know if that made much sense XD )

Each and every are indefinite pronouns.
a. True
b. False
cluponka [151]
It is false that each and every are indefinite pronouns, they are quatifiers. While a pronoun is used to substitute a noun. In order for it to substitute, it must have a clear antecedent. Personal pronouns are used to substitute nouns with ownership. There are three persons point of view.1st person is when the subject is the one who is speaking (e.g. I, me, my, mine, we, us, our, ours). 2nd person is when the subject is the one being spoken to (you, your, yours). 3rd person is when the subject is the one spoken about (he, him, his, she, her, hers, it, its, they, their, theirs).

Underline each dangling modifier . If a sentence is correct , write correct
damaskus [11]
1) skating across the pond
2) studying for weeks
3) correct.
4) writing letters at camp
5) finishing the dishes
6) greeting the guest
7)correct
8) this was more complicated but I think it's correct
9) watching television
10) lost in a strange city

Okay, so these are actually really easy once you get it. Basically, if the noun after the comma isn't what was doing the action then it is wrong (unless it was stated before the comma) for example

”Forgetting to do homework, the paper was turned in late.”
That's wrong because it makes it seem like the paper was the one who forgot to do their homework. You could fix it by saying
“forgetting to do my homework, I turned the paper in late”

Hope I helped!
