Douglass says that he feels distanced from the people to whom he is speaking because they identify with free people, and he identifies with slaves.
Fredrick Douglass gave this famous speech before the Civil Wars. His speech was about the Hippocratic nature that the Americans have been facing and practicing simultaneously. As he moves on with the speech he becomes angrier. He wants slavery to be abolished through any means. He speaks about the celebration of 4th July which was to be celebrated as the day of freedom. It is very disappointing for him to see that the people are celebrating the freedom of a nation which has been build on the surface of slavery. In his speech, he mentions about his own people who do not associate themselves with the slaves rather they identify themselves with the whites.

Subject: Request to construct zebra crossing
Sir
I want to solicit that via the columns of your renown newspaper, I wish to bring your immediate attention to an issue of concern in regards to traffic issues on the road in front of Methodist Girls School, New Delhi.
The road is known to be very congested and traffic jams are often seen here. The key issue that arises is mainly as a result of due the movement of huge vehicles on the road. There are no forms of any speed breakers or zebra crossings that one can see or use on the road, and this tends to makes it tough for a lot of people, mostly school students to cross the road.
This is a factor that makes the road is accident prone and as such, I a student of class 10, Methodist Girls School, on behalf of the students and school authorities, do solicit you to make a creation of zebra crossing on the road so that we can use in crossing the road.
I thank you in anticipation.
Yours Faithfully,
Ethan
