The correct answer to this question is B) Allowing scholars to study topics other than those supported by the Catholic Church.

The statement that describes a major contribution of European universities to the Scientific Revolution is: “Allowing scholars to study topics other than those supported by the Catholic Church.”

Catholic dogma and its teachings used to dominate the knowledge imparted in many schools during the middle ages. So one of the major contributions of European universities to the Scientific Revolution was that these universities started to impart many different topics other than Catholic dogmas. European universities were open to new ideas and information that supported the ideas of the Scientific Revolution, as it was the case of the universities of Oxford and Cambridge in England or the University of Paris, in France.

What would happen to industrialized nations’ economies if they did not expand their reach abroad?
Nikolay [14]
Well that would likely hinder the trade for such nation, like China. China has a TON of industry, and what would happen of it couldn't reach outside its borders? The economy would plummet! It would weaken every aspect of the nation.
