The answer for this is "<span>D) to create a feeling of darkness and gloom".

In Emily Dickinson's poem, it described how the sky is so murky and dark that even the Earth is hard to see.

Hope this helps. :D</span>

“Whereäs” as an alternative spelling of “whereas”
ra1l [238]
Yes, it seems to be an alternative, in some situations acceptable, but eccentric and not neutral spelling of this word. It accents the fact that "ea" here are two separate vowels rather than a diphthong: that is the function of the  trema (the two dots).

In practice it's not used much, because it's not really necessary: it does not distinguish it from any other word, and trema is not easy to find on English keyboards: so there is no need.

Think of the college or career program you are most interested in
aliina [53]

Answer:

The school I would like to attend is Fresno State University. The program I was planning to study was Agricultural Sciences. My reason for attending Fresno State is because I want to prove myself that I can achieve success, even without having to go to the UCs or the Ivy League. If I'm admitted into the university, I can contribute future benefits by applying my knowledge into creating futuristic agricultural methods and procedures.

Define ' open depth of field ' in your own words
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Depth of field is the distance between the closest and farthest objects in a photo that appears acceptably sharp. Now your camera can only focus sharply at one point. But the transition from sharp to unsharp is gradual, and the term 'acceptably sharp' is a loose one!
